Gnr. Hugh McWhinnie "Hughie" Wight

Gnr. Hugh McWhinnie “Hughie” Wight, formerly of the 151st (Ayreshire Yeomanry) Royal Artillery, served with No.3 Troop of No.6 Commando from 15th February 1944.

He is noted to have been wounded on D-Day 6th June 1944 and evacuated back to the UK.  He rejoined the unit in 1945 prior to their departure again for Northern Europe.  He remained with the unit till the end of the war before returning to his parent regiment.
